Glad to hear the wedding went off well. Improvements with the Ministry of beginning to take place and I've been in meetings nonstop since we passed a new plan of action. Things are looking good and I would like to thank everyone for their hard work as well as encourage you all to keep it up.
[Hexed to friends self] Doing as much as I can is paying off, as it should. People are enthusiastic that we're getting somewhere for the first time since the fall of the Ministry building. I only wish I could do more.
It was hard seeing Dad after Charlie's wedding, not like he expected me to come, but he was much more business than I've ever seen him before. It's a good thing though, everyone should focus that much on work, we'll be getting so much done.

[Heavily hexed private] It's relieving to see the swift changes that are taking place since the collapse of the Ministry building. I know everyone has been working tirelessly and it's been rather impressive to see how things have come together. I have always wanted to some day be the Minister, though in my dreams it hadn't been at a time like this. Since being asked to be the temporary Minister during this crisis until we can make things more permanent, I've done my best to prove that I have what it takes. The idea that some of those people voted for me was rather surprising. My own father even. I haven't talked to him in... well in years. I suppose my work ethic is enough. It's more intimidating than I thought, but I've got faith, and Penny believes in me, so that should be enough to see me through. [/hex]
I'd like to congratulate everyone working to rebuild our Ministry. Things are moving along impressively. Job well done.

The Ministry issued a statement in today's issue of the Prophet. I thought it was well put and goes to reassuring the public that rebuilding is going strong. The rubble of the Ministry building has been thoroughly searched and any survivors that were trapped inside have now been rescued and by all accounts they're all recovering well enough. Any creatures that had been loosed by the Death Eaters have been taken care of and the area is now much safer, albeit the destroyed building.
We have all been working harder than we've ever had to before and I'm proud to say that so far it's been a job well done. We've established headquarters that is currently closed to the public and the order that once existed within the Ministry has remained solidly in place due to the hard work of the many surviving Department Heads. So far it's been collaborative work but there is talk of needed a new Minister and the public has been asking questions about the same thing. So I believe that soon we'll have an emergency Minister put in place.
Good work to everyone who has been toiling through this and helping us clean up and set up again.

[Hexed to friends] I wish I could go to this Quidditch Final and enjoy it. Unfortunately, is seems I'm forced to carry my work with me everywhere I go. While I enjoy what I do and I wouldn't dream of voluntarily give it up, I would like a break every now and then. Just some time away from it all would be nice. People in positions like me can't do things like that though, not at times like these. There's too much to keep up on and a break would only mean we'd miss sometime. As much as I trust my staff to do their jobs well, because they really do, I know that I'm needed in the office.
I could use a massage though. That might help.

[Hexed to friends] What a waste of our damn time! We had this all under control. We were going to interrogate Vaisey with Veritaserum but someone told the Minister that we had a Death Eater and he showed up and wouldn't listen to a damn thing we had to say. Instead, he insists on a trial and execution so that the public can see results. They would have seen results and we would have gotten really answers if he had only listened to those of us who are trying to do our jobs instead of trying to please the public! We could have had names, locations, everything from him but now our chance is gone and what have we got to show for it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. This is how desperate the Minister is.
He lied to the Prophet, we have no names; we have nothing. He wasted our chance and now we're back to where we were before.
I'm getting so tired of things being done like this.

Congratulations Oliver and Alicia. I'm happy for the both of you. I'll be sending engagement gifts soon.
[Hexed against Loyal Death Eaters and their supporters] The Minister actually is taking a vacation, if only a short one. I'm glad, I think we're all glad. He needed it after all. The job as Minister has got to be anything but easy. He'll be gone until the end of the week and has left others in charge during his leave.
Tonks, I have something you need to see right away. Sorry to call you back from your day off, but this is important.

[Private to friends] The Minister is getting more agitated recently. He is pushing for results to our current searches and we're just unable to give him as much as he wishes to see. He's constantly calling me to his office for daily reports. How am I supposed to get my own work done and over see my own department if I'm called away so often. I've nothing to hide from the Minister but he needs to know when to let people do the jobs they know and to wait for reports.
We're doing all that we can, I assure you all that. These recent personal attacks were completely unpredicted and random. There seems to be no purpose or way of connecting them other than they were both Puddlemere players and friends. Well, needless to say, this gives no insight into what their current motives and plans are. There has been recent activity and we're watching as closely as we can. Hopefully something with turn in our favor soon.
Glad to hear you're doing well Oliver.

I leave my journal alone for ten minutes in my own office and look what happens. Let's try to be a little more mature while we're working here. Please. Who ever did it ought to be glad I'm not going to waste my time investigating.

This certainly is a great lost to the Ministry. My condolences go out to those who feel this loss more keenly than the rest of us.

[Hexed against the media and those who would use this information against him] Penny has finally been able to sell all of her things at her old flat and move in with me. It's nice having her here. I'm able to come home from work and know that I won't be alone for the rest of the night. The place isn't so empty any more, not like it used to be. Ever since Penny started to stay with me, it's like she's filled the place simply with her presence. I can't even describe how it feels. We're together again, like it should have been, like it always should be. We've made peace with our past and are moving on. It's a wonderful thing, you know, to move on.

[Private] The scotch hardly does a thing to help anymore. My nerves are shot and I know I could probably use a break, but that's nearly impossible at the moment. The department has been in overhaul since the attack on New Years, I don't think anyone has gotten a proper amount of rest since then. I know I haven't. There's too much to work on to take a day's leave. I'm here everyday; trying to make a difference and when I can just make out the light at the end of the tunnel; Azkaban happens.
How can we expect to do our jobs and run a government when we can't trust our own employees with information that would be harmful if given to the wrong hands? The traitor who let the Death Eaters take Azkaban; which is simply the only way they could have gotten in, will pay for his treachery; and in a public manner. This cannot be tolerated if we expect to keep our feet on anything remotely firm in the future.
On another note, I'll be attending the wedding of two of my employee's tomorrow, then going right back to work.
I hope that by going, I'll be able to see an end to my own torment. Though I lost her completely; at least I can put my mind at ease and not torture myself with trying to win her back. Hopefully. [/Private]
If anyone has any information regarding the Death Eaters or anyone who may be suspected of conspiring with them; please report your findings to the Ministry. Rewards will be given.

Thanks for the, uh, lion Oliver. It's... big. I've got no place for it really.
I'm very glad we've moved on to another day. The mess at the Ministry was giving me a headache and distracting people from their work. It was a pointless holiday and really should be banned from the workplace.

Work is going smoothly. Slowly but smoothly. We keep getting leads and information, whether or not it's always helpful is another topic all together, but it's good that we're getting the information that we're getting. On that note, if you have any information regarding the attack at the New Year's Ball, please contact the Ministry immediately.
I went to a quidditch game the other day, a Puddlemere one, because Oliver is a good friend and it's his team. Of course, being a Head in the Ministry has it's perks, so I was able to sit in one of the boxes reserved for the Ministry and their guests. It was a nice view and a good game. Puddlemere won of course, it was in the paper after all. It had been awhile since I'd gone to a quidditch game, I'd forgotten how involving they are. I enjoyed myself to say the least.
Luckily this holiday business is on a Friday and everyone who is celebrating has the weekend to recover. Everyone is still expected to be at work in a prompt manner on Monday.
